21 days until our new life begins at Guantanamo Bay NAS, Cuba. Actually in so many ways, it begun the moment we began embracing the idea of gtmo. Many hours have been spent researching and many more dreaming and hoping. Add to that the fact that my husband, Vic, has already been in gtmo for a week now and has funneled back to me so many details of how life is there. I feel like I can picture it through his descriptions. And I am so very eager to join him!
My hope through writing this blog is two-fold. First, to keep in touch with friends and family and give them a glimpse into our adventure. And second, to help others who are headed there or may be considering taking a job find out more info about life in gtmo. Our main source of info about life there was through finding a blog; however, the sweet lady who wrote that blog has now been stationed in Virginia. So, I have agreed to "take the torch" and attempt to be a source of current info, from a civilian's perspective.
